Suspended Garden at the Botteh Rugs Storefront

For Botteh Handmade Rugs, we created a storefront that goes beyond a simple product display and becomes an art gallery. Through the lightness and volume of the botanical pieces, we designed a magnetic space that tells a visual story and instantly captures the customer's eye.

The Challenge

The architecture of an upscale storefront demands a surgical eye: the main challenge was to create a striking artistic intervention that respected the intricate patterns of the rugs as the true protagonist. On a street with fierce visual competition, an attention-grabbing feature was needed to make pedestrians and drivers stop and admire, using the store's overhead space intelligently.

The Floral Installation

The answer came through the unmistakable texture of giant Italian crepe paper flowers — the pleated, voluminous finish contrasts with the geometric lines of the rugs in the background. Every petal was hand-sculpted in our atelier, ensuring no two flowers were exactly alike.

The palette combined magenta, intense orange, and deep red, with touches of off-white and black, in dialogue with the rug collections on display. A refined detail was the addition of mirrored centers to each flower, catching and reflecting the store's directional lighting and the city lights at night — the flowers appear to float in the air thanks to the suspended installation, making the most of the store's ceiling height.
