The Royal Garden of Riyadh

We were invited to create the botanical scenography for the wedding of the granddaughter of Saudi Arabia's first King. The scale of the event demanded an unmatched level of excellence — we created over 6,000 handcrafted giant flowers, using premium materials and a design that combined sophistication, delicacy, and architectural impact.

The Challenge

The bride's mother had a clear vision: the wedding shouldn't feel like just a party, but a true contemporary art gallery. To achieve that, she brought together a select group of artists from around the world — Japan, Germany, Italy, France — and the Jacque Benevides atelier was chosen to represent Brazil.

The biggest challenge was logistics and the rigorous approval process for every detail: we carried out an on-site validation in Saudi Arabia with full-scale samples, and once the bride approved the design, we moved into 8 months of meticulous production. For the final installation, a team of 10 team members spent 45 days in Riyadh preparing the structure, followed by 6 intensive days of on-site setup — we shipped 1.5 metric tons of petals and materials from Brazil.

The Floral Installation

In the main hall, we designed a scenic ceiling with 45 giant EVA foam flowers, each 10 feet (3 meters) in diameter, hand-painted in a palette approved by the bride — the visual effect was that of a blooming sky, creating the majestic atmosphere befitting royalty.

A curved wall nearly 300 feet (90 meters) long received a monumental flower bed with over 400 giant white organza flowers, each hand-painted at the center to reflect the exact palette of the celebration. For the groom's family's Royal Room, we created a textured panel made entirely of Italian crepe paper flowers. In the Perfume Room, a giant flower mounted on the ceiling transformed the hall's crystal chandelier into the flower's own center.

The guests' journey included an immersive corridor with a suspended rain of white flowers, and a bed of giant paper dahlias growing out of preserved Norwegian moss. At the table centerpieces, hand-shaped white flowers mimicked the texture of fine porcelain, adorned with colored crystals that echoed the wedding's palette.
